What comes after ‘happily ever after’?

Reflections Of Queen Snow White, is a tale of what comes after. On the eve of her daughters wedding, Snow White is still mourning the loss of her husband. She roams the castle, unable to break free of her misery, when she finds herself in a long abandoned part of the castle. There, she stumbles across her step-mothers magic mirror, having lain dormant these past thirty years.

Snow White’s struggle to move on from her husbands passing is a very real one. She has lost her way, not knowing who she is without him. In a very Mufasa”you have forgotten who you are” moment, the magic mirror, (who turns out NOT to be the evilest of the evil) attempts to rectify this.

As far as favorite characters go? I’m going with the mirror. Yes, it is a magical object, and yes, most of the time they lead to nothing good, but the mirror makes some rather compelling arguments, forcing Snow White to face her truths.

While Reflections of Queen Snow White is filled with beautiful fluffy moments between Snow White and her Prince Charming, there are several that will break your heart also.

My only qualm would be that it felt like something was missing, nothing bad, and I just couldn’t quite put my finger on what it was. Perhaps simply that it was quite a short book, and I felt it had potential to be more.

All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed the book. It was a nice easy read, still keeping those touches you expect to find in fairy-tales.

But, I’ll leave it to you to find out if the mirror is successful in it’s endeavor to snap Snow White back to the land of the living.
